Hear from our festival directors

" With this festival, I’m hoping to provide a creative and open space; an opportunity for young theatre makers to challenge and explore their boldest ideas; something they’ve always wanted to try but couldn’t.

I want them to think about what kind of industry they want to work in and begin to shape it with their own work together — new works, daring community, bold theatre. "

Kristina Pakhomova,

Festival Co-Director & Co-Founder of Bold Moment Theatre

" In the spirit of ‘scratch nights’, ‘Quick & Bold’ aims to be a platform for new ideas, practices and conversations for emerging artists or practitioners looking to develop a new aspect of their craft with others.

Bold moments are fleeting but are the spaces where we can ‘take the plunge’ with a little less thinking and a lot more intuition. I’m hoping that after the quick and bold moments in the preparation and presentation of this festival, all of us involved can glean a little more courage and experience from having to put ourselves and our ideas out there. "

Khairul Kamsani,

Festival Co-Director & Co-Founder of Bold Moment Theatre

Kristina Pakhomova

Festival Co-Director / Co-Artistic Director of Bold Moment

At the age of five, Kristina Pakhomova’s destiny was sealed when her mother became a lead actress with a local theatre group in Russia. Watching her mother acting on stage, show after show, created a spark in Kristina that inspired her to make a life-changing decision- one day it would be her on that stage. Many of her friends would vouch that once Kristina sets her mind on something, there’s no stopping her.

Having graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts with a BA(Hons) in Acting, Kristina has performed in a number of theatre plays, short films, TV and radio projects as well as producing, directing, writing and performing in her own work. Today, she is the artistic director and founder of KrisP. Production, a Hong Kong-based theatre and film production company, and also the co-founder and co-artistic director of Bold Moment Theatre and Actor Training (Singapore) with her business partner Khairul Kamsani. Kristina’s life mission is to help people express themselves freely and authentically through creativity. She is a true believer that everyone is born creative. Kristina’s goal is to remind her students that they are already creative, and she can show the ways in which they can let themselves be creative.
